What if we are in the spring month of May? Santa arrived in Crete and many presents for the jobless. Greece’s Labor ministry has created a program for 3,000 jobless living on the island of Crete. The ministry program will be implemented in cooperation with the local municipalities. The jobless will be hired at the local authorities. The ministry has prepared a list of possible actions that might meet the needs of several municipalities on the beautiful island.
According to the list, the jobs can be related to
– environment (ie.gardening in public parks)
– promotion of local products(ie.conducting surveys for local products)
–poverty (no example given)
– sports (no example given)
-tourism (ie. events for welcoming or waving Goodbye to tourists)
The jobless will be hired for 5 months and will earn €3,500 in total – or else 700 euros per month gross. A certain percentage of the temporary jobs will be given to jobless under 30.
The announcement for applications submition will be ‘on air’ in June or July 2011. The jobless program is financed via EU funding.
