More and more Greeks are joining the union’s protest outside the Parliament, despite the rain and the cold. Demonstrators oppose the new austerity package that will impoverish the average household in fast speed. Inside the parliament, MPs are debating on the wages, pensions and supplementary pensions cuts.

Crowd-control barriers were set up as early as of 6.30 in the morning, in order to prohibit protesters to come too close to the Monument of the Unknown Soldier and the Parliament building

Minor incidents took place in the early evening, when protesters hurled a flare at the riot policemen outside the parliament.
