Our nerves lay right there in front of us: blank and difficult to control! What Greek citizens care most is whether they can pay next months rent or mortgage installments, feed their children and keep their job. Greek politicians have other priorities though: from early in the morning until late at night they cross swords on our TV screens and try to convince the audience about the correctness of their party’s position and their plans to save the country. Their nerves are blank as well. Even worse! Some of them came at the edge of starting to punch each other while at a live TV studio.
Together with other elected or non-elected politicians, author Petros Tatsopoulos (left-wing SYRIZA) and Stelios Stavridis (neo-liberal DRASI) were invited by TV presenter Fay Mavraganni on Focus Web TV studio to debate about the possibility that party leaders form a government, the position of SYRIZA and a potential reunification of a broader center-right front.
The initially civilized conversation quickly mutated into an explosive shouting with almost ‘violent’ consequences.

Tatsopoulos left – Stavridis right
Of course, there is a longer version of the video on YouTube as tension rises slowly but gradually and ends with hands and arms nearly to get out of control ….

Tsatsopoulos later apologized for his behaviour.
That’s why I love greeks. They may not know how to run a country, but they sure are funnier than the europeans.
humor makes the world go ’round
this is a fu** patronised and stupid comment. they are arguing the fate and lives of real people, but you obviously can’t understand that.
If we wouldn’t balance this ongoing Greek tragedy with a good dose of humor, we’d already be in a nuthouse, Ron.
I think that I too, in that situation, would have shouted at or laid hands on Stavridis
because he’s such a leech
This behavior is not “politically correct” and Tsatsopoulos went over the line, but this is what I love about us Greeks, while we are hard workers and appreciative towards people, we are also true, speak our minds and do not TOLERATE INSOLENCE.
Stavridis has insulted in every way possible on personal and political level but did this with a smile…which makes him insolent, a coward and utterly unethical.
He thinks that by maintaining the “politically correct” attitude he is given “right” and justification… well that is why I love Greeks, as said above by Ron, the lives of millions are being destroyed. I say they are being destroyed by the kinds of Stavridis and on top he becomes an insolent “evangelist” with indifference towards the suffering of everyday people that are below poverty levels…. There is no room for daisies when things get to that point when they insult you on top of it….
I work harder and get poorer by the day. I, an everyday Greek am being offended and humiliated by “Stavridis” guys every day…
So in simple Greek, without “appearances and politically correct codes” here is the true answer to your insolence…
