July 1, 2012: The euro zone is apparently on a safe track, money is supposedly to be given to the banks for growth and development.. Greece is being granted some ‘mercy’ time until some things are settled: PM Samaras is back to work, new Finance Minister Stournaras takes up office and Troika would come, see and write its report.
The representatives of Greece’s lenders IMF/EU/ECB are expected to land in Athens tomorrow Monday.
Until the real fight and disagreement start all over again, let’s enjoy some relaxing days… so much needed after an awful stressful winter.
Have nice summer holidays and Καλό Μήνα!
PS KTG will try to do more swimming and less reporting – until July 8,2012. Of course, if something extraordinary occurs, we will do reporting and delete … swimming 🙂
Watch out for the Merkel Sharkfish while you swim.
you won’t believe it: I’m surrounded by Germans lol
Can someone explain why the banks need more money injected into them from lenders? like the IMF or ECB etc.
Should not the money be first used to keep the health system operating and to the benefit of infrustracture to the people and help with job creation by supporting people to become more self sufficient in their own little private businesses.
And can someone also tell us exactly how much is the Debt Greece has? And how much are the monthly interest payments on this Debt?
We only hear that Greece is in Debt but we do not have any concrete figures.
We would like to know. Just like when we buy a car on credit. We know how much we have to pay back and we could manage our finances to pay the agreed loan with the agreed interest rate. And if we are able we can pay a little or a lot extra to reduce the Debt faster and thus own our car faster and avoid the on going and extra costs.
health and infrastructure? are you kidding? the money that comes is for repayment of the debt we owe to lenders not for the people’s benefits. what’s the Greece’s debt? hm… google Greece PSI

Are you sure you want to know?
thanks a lot. before PSI it was even worse lol
Have a goog, well deserved break!
Καλό Μήνα, KTG. Enjoy the swimming. But take good care, because there seem to be far less lifeguards around this year. And an awful lot of drownings.
Maybe a good time to do some research how the situation is around closed beaches around Athens that were increasing problems when I was still living there and which caused the mayor of Glyfada(?) to go on hungerstrike a couple of elections ago…
I don’t swim more than 10 cm from the coast line lol
10cm? At least the sharks won’t bother you 🙂
I was once attacked by a shoal of cuttlefish, leaving me with completely blue legs! Now I avoid the sea, as usual.
really?
It was only blue ink, nothing damaged me, but it was still a shock to walk out of the sea with blue legs!
Κάλο μπάνιο – the water’s wonderful here in Κρήτη…… I’m sure you deserve a break after writing nearly 1000 articles so far this year!
what???? 1,000 articles??
the warer is wonderful here too 🙂
Καλό μήνα! I’m in Zakynthos, my homeland, and it’s wonderful!! Hotel owners here say that things have get better after the 18th of June and that reservations are on the rise! 🙂 🙂
great! to hear good news!
I loVe Salamina island for swim with my grandma, she make big splash
καλό μήνα και καλό μπάνιο
Greetings to lovely greek sea , I left only two weeks ago and already I miss it so much, as usual.
Hope that tourist reservations keep on rising, god news!
I’d really like to take a vacation on Makronisos Island. Some Greek guy in a black t-shirt was yelling at me and from what I could understand, he said he’d like to send me there, so wondering if it is a nice place, and I assume it’s a tourist island since he obviously knew I was foreinger? Anybody know?
