Greece’s neo-nazi party has apparently a noble cause. Only to help people in need, “like the Hezbollah does in Lebanon”. That was said by GD MP Ilias Panagiotaros to Australian network SBS “Dateline” program. Furthermore, the lawmaker suggested that instead of people committing suicide, they should rather “kill those responsible for the crisis”, that is the “the bankers, of course.” When asked by the SBS report about the criticism that GD was a violent party, the MP simply comments “screw them!”
“Austerity measures are biting harder than ever in Greece, with people losing their homes and jobs and becoming more and more desperate.
And they’re turning in increasing numbers to the far right Golden Dawn party, which lays the country’s troubles firmly at the feet of immigrants and Greek politicians, ” writes SBS reporter Evan Williams on the network website.

For those not aware of Hezbollah in Lebanon, should check some general information here. Yes, it’s true that radical Hezbollah in Lebanon as well as Islamic Jihad and Hamas in Palestinian occupied territories, used the charity path to gain people’s support, where the states failed to provide people with basics. The same path was used in Turkey with the moderate Islamists of Erbakan and Erdogan already in the 1990’s. International media puzzled for many years about the financing of all this charitable work.
But a combination of German national-socialist (racist) ideals with Islamic elements (charity is the 3rd pillar of Islam), I honestly have never seen before. Another Greek paradox?…
