With unacceptable irony, intimidating remarks and political “bullying”, the Managing Director of International Monetary Fund, Mme(?) Christine Lagarde, attacked Greeks at the Eurogroup meeting in Luxembourg on Thursday.
“For the moment we are short of a dialogue, the key emergency is to restore the dialogue with adults in the room,” Lagarde said at a press briefing after the eurozone finance ministers gathering.
“Her comment comes after Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras said the Washington-based lender had a “criminal responsibility” for the Greek crisis,” the Business Standard notes. Madame Lagarde was reportedly angry, despite some apologies by the Greeks.
Brussels correspondents covering the eurogroup meeting, quote Lagarde saying to Varoufakis: “The criminal in chief comes to say hello.”

Asked to comment on Lagarde remarks, Varoufakis said “I am committed not to make derogatory comments about anyone.”

Varoufakis may have not wanted to comment, but Lagarde felt the hot breath of her former colleagues, the French politicians. “Last time Lagarde negotiated with adults cost the French 400 million euro for Tapie”, wrote Tanguy Bismuth, deputy chairman of Sarkozi’s party.

Christine Lagarde was reportedly involved in an alleged misuse of power scandal and her role in a €403 million arbitration deal in favour of businessman Bernard Tapie had been investigated.

I think you misunderstood what she said: Tsipras said the FMI has a “criminal responsibility”. She is the chief of the FMI, so she called herself ““the criminal in chief”. It was probably meant to be humor.
