The first heat wave of this summer is expected in …May! Next weekend. Meteorologists forecast temperatures to rise above the seasonal levels and reach 33-34 degrees Celsius and even 35-36 C locally. The weather will not be fun this summer….
While there are rainfalls and even hale Tuesday and Wednesday mainly in Northern Greece, with north winds up to 6 Beaufort, the weather is expected to change for the better on Thursday.
Friday and Saturday, the weather will be warm and wet and occasionally cloudy.
But temperature will reach some heights, pretty unusual for the middle May.
On Friday, temperature will reach up to 29 degrees Celsius in the Greek capital Athens, up to 35° C on Saturday and 34° C on Sunday, May 12-14 2017. On Monday, temperature will still be high with 31° C and will go back to seasonal normal as of Tuesday.
The fearful 36 degrees Celsius is expected in the usual areas like in Central Greece.
Highest temperature of the day is at 3 pm in the shadow.
It will be the first heat wave of the year. It is expected to last for three five days days.
If the first heat wave sets in in May, I don’t want to think what will happen in summer months June, July and August.
