A Libyan aircraft conducted a flight within the Athens FIR earlier today, coming from Tripolis. According to the filed fight plan it was heading to Cairo, Egypt.
Greek media reported that the aircraft belongs to the Libyan airlines and claimed that the plane belongs to Muammar Gadhafi, a claim that could not be confirmed.
The aircraft flew southwest of the island of Crete and stayed within the Athens FIR for about 15 minutes.
Greek authorities sources said that the aircraft was a Falcon 900 jet, used for VIP transport and that there was no information about the two passengers it was transporting. On Tuesday the aircraft was in Amman, Jordan. meanwhile the aircraft has landed in Cairo.

Analysts dismiss the possibility that Libyan leader Muammar Gadhafi would exile to Egypt as the climate there is not friendly for him after President Hosni Mubarak was removed from office.
On Tuesday, Muammar Gadhafi called Greek PM George Papandreou apparently to convey his message to the West.
