I have been in a dilemma for quite some time now, as to whether I should post about some prominent or totally unknown clowns around Europe who misuse Greece’s financial situation to gain their 15 seconds of fame. Just recently I read about a German tax consultant who tried to cross his village boundaries and make it from the ‘deep Bavaria’ to the press. He claims to have submitted a letter to German Finance Ministry proclaiming that he wants his taxes being used for German purposes only and therefore he will (?) stop tax payments and deposit the money in a trust account. “With this action I want to shake up our politicians” he told the you-know-what German newspaper. “First tax rebel” was the title of the article, and “No taxes for Debt countries like Greece” was the subtitle.
The seocnd clown of the week is a populist Danish Europa politician who claims that Greece should give the island of Kos to Denmark as collateral (guarantee) for the loan. Apparently the guy had spent his Greece vacation also in other Greek islands and had decided, Kos would fit him best.
You want the names of the clowns? My fingers would fall apart should I type these names and post the articles links. And they would have indeed gained not 15 but 20 seconds of fame. So much as one would need to read this post.
PS. I have the names and the links….
i think a good answer for the danish guy is to distribute his article to the people of kos, next time he visits they can provide him with a warm welcome. chances are he will be offered a few meters of kos land to call his own for eternity. To turn away from the seriousness of the situation we can look at the lighter side and say at least its not just our politicians who have taken a divorce from reality and common sense. as for the german taxpayer i think we can understand how he feels, think how many times greeks have thought i hope my taxes dont go to politicians kickbacks and rousfetia this time.
that’s an optin I didn’t think of: inform the residents of Kos! Morten Messerschmidt, Kos is anticipating …. Thanks for the advise
yes i think we have talked about the donkey central transportation system in another post, it will also mean that ipiros will have some economix growth as they have plenty of donkeys in the mountains. fond memories of not beeing able to sleep because of donkeys braying when i visited my grandmother.
there are also many donkeys on the Greek islands that will also exprerience a booming growth.
thinking of deleting it as it’s not true….
Don’t delete. It is fun!!!
But I understand the problem. You might put a [he said jokingly, KTG] stamp in it? Or something posters could put in their ironical meant posts? Like [sarcasm on]…[sarcasm off]?
(And yes I am bored because my clients are 3 hours late because of the ‘work-to-rule’ action by air traffic controllers…)
Yes it was only a fun comment but with all the misinformation coming from the press and politicians maybe it should be deleted
done! then even if I sometimes explicitely explain it is a joke/fun, there are alwasy readers who believe things. We must be very careful! No to mention the power of the copy-paste hobby of internet users lol
