This morning Greeks were desperately trying to find the exact position of Turkish hydrocarbon research vessel Piri Reis on Marine Traffic.com, the vessel traffic service. On some pc screens the site appeared to be down. However one – or maybe more- were lucky to get a screen shot from the hacked page. One of them is Antonis, a KTG-reader who sent us this exclusive picture.
Meanwhile, the Marine Traffic site is operational again, however Koca Piri Reis -as the official name of the vessel is – seems to have stopped showing its position (as of 11 am local time). The page signals a modest “Out of Range”….
