This is an importance notice for the emergency property tax. 1. LOL! Great joke! Made my day.

  2. Does anyone know where we find out the exemption criteria

    • exemption and reduction criteria are: long time jobless, people with documented 80% dissability, parents with child with 80% dissability, people with many children ( I guess more than 3?). If you fulfil these criteria but you are unsure, send the SMS and they will answer you back – much to my knowledge, form what I read in the press and the message by FinMin press office.

  3. What about British ex-pats living in Greece and not working,do we count as jobless?

  4. what about people that don’t use internet or mobile phone or tv?
these people have to pay regardless!
    kind of unfair

it is a gov decision that All Greeks will have an internet , from 0 to 110 yrs old. Meeting the target is the slogan!

  5. Is there a website we can go to find out more. No problem if it’s in Greek.

  6. Could anyone tell me if the tax will be deducted automatically as per our electricity via direct debit.

if ‘direct debit” means that the bill is paid automatically via the bank, the answer is yes. I asked today. What you can do is ‘check the bill and put enough money on the account before DEH colects the money on the expired date.’
