Former UK Finance Minister Alistair Darling criticized Greece’s lenders’ plan for the debt-ridden country saying that at the end Greece will have a bigger debt that before the rescue plan. “It has no logic. such a plan will leave Greece with a higher debt percentage than the country had at the beginning of the crisis. I don’t see how Greece will manage to pay back its debt, when its GDP is so low” Darling to Greek private radio Skai fm.
The former Finance Minister accused Germany and France for a wrong approach to the debt crisis and stressed that ‘we are far away from the solution of the problem.”
Darling described the scenario of euro exit as “very bad and painful” especially for the citizens, predicting that ” a lot of work places will be lost and the citizens will be concerned about their money.” He concluded that he wouldn’t like to see this happening.”
