1. Obviously a dire mistake of the German coach. He should have sent Frege in instead of that loser Marx.

2. I knew when Karl Marxx was put in, things would go to hell.

   • Indeed. And relying on the egomaniacal alleged “Übermensch” Nietzsche was a very bad idea, too. Adorno would have been a better choice, bringing fresh ideas and more aestethics to the German play. Damn.

3. John Cleese for the EU presidency. At least we would be guaranteed a laugh!

     • Umm well, given that context, I’m envisioning a (nasty) Monty Python sketch series titled “Ministry of Silly Talk”. There should be plenty of material to make one.

4. The Germans have always had a poor grip on reality 🙂

5. I am afraid that there is more much more Nietsche than Marx in the current merkel team. Also lots of people, in both Germany and Greece and elsewhere, should read current marxian economics. even if you don´t agree with the practical proposals , the analysis still stand stronger than most “impartial academic” economists who just seem to fail to understand how capitalism works and how it should be tamed.

   • Yeah, the analysis wasn’t bad, but the proposed strategy for overcoming the problems was delusional. Let’s face it, Marx never delivered any goals! Bad choice.

   • There is no philosophical underpinning to the Merkel team, at all. They are driven by exogenous power (banks) and a childish belief in some tenets of neoliberal ideology — all of it mixed in with a very nasty dose of hypocritical religious “morality”.

     Basically, they are crooks who like power. Nothing else needs to be said.
