Prime minister Antonis Samaras is excited. Excited about the achievements of his coalition government and thus less than a year at the leadership of the country. Conservative Samaras, all Nea Dimocratia lawmakers and finance minister Yiannis Stournaras are determined to make us believe that (theoretically) the crisis is over.
The Grexit is a thing of the past, a sad memory,” Antonis Samaras told the audience during an event on Monday.
“”One year ago Greece was an example best avoided. Today the Greek success story is becoming a symbol of a new European dynamic.”
Samaras spoke also about the unemployment and the recession however without omitting praising the glorious government:
“How many countries could survive this? How many countries could succeed under such circumstances to push through such sweeping structural reforms without falling apart, without losing their cohesion and their sense of self-respect?”
Greece’s success story is a symbol. What are Greeks at the verge of total economic collapse? An example best avoided, I assume.
While we are anticipating investments, work places and salaries that allow a living, and restoring the dignity of those seeking a meal at soup kitchens, freeze in winter or have their electricity cut,
we remain,
with best regards…
PS and a vision about where do we successfully go from here and where will we be in ten years from now.
