It’s not a secret that Greek politicians have a good life. This facts is being confirmed each and every year, when the Parliament publishes their assets declarations. 694 politicians were obliged to submit their declarations in 2012 and they refer to their wealth in 2011.
Greek politicians are champions in real estate possessions. And not only: they have bank deposits, cars, shares, and even yachts.

Income raising Champion
Dimitris Tsoukalas, MP from left-wing SYRIZA MP and former president of the federation of bank employee unions (OTOE). He declared he received 1 million euro in retirement lump-sum in the year 2011 – the second year of IMF-austerity.
Clever investor
Deputy development Minister Notis Mitarakis: bought a 199 m2 apartment worth EUR 1,319,023.092. Location: London. Year 2010.
Champion in real estate
Ex MP and former minister Theodoros Pangalos: he has 49 properties, although he had declared 53 a year earlier.
Champion ex PM
George Papandreou managed to increase his assets at 180,000 euro.
