The latest public opinion survey has several surprises. First that the Greek Communist party KKE occupies the third position in respondents’ preference and that it pushes down right-extremist Golden Dawn, for the first time since 2 years. The second surprise is that former Samaras’ coalition partner Democratic Left is not even mentioned on the list as public surveys publish on the list only the parties that receive above 1%. A third surprise is that Anticapitalist Left (ANTARSYA) gets 1.4% and it therefore enters the survey party list.
The public opinion survey was conducted by Metron Analysis:
SYRIZA 23%
NEA DIMOKRATIA 20.4%
KKE 5.6%
GOLDEN DAWN 5.3%
POTAMI 4.8%
ELIA/PASOK 4.6%
Independent Greeks 3%
ANTARSYA 1.4%
It is the third public opinion survey conducted in September showing SYRIZA ahead with a +/- 3% difference. PASOK/ELIA is constantly below 5%.
Threshold for entering the Parliament is 3%.
