Ferry rescues swimmer swept away by sea currents (VIDEO)

A ferry boat on the Rio-Antirio shuttle in the Gulf of Corinth, rescued a swimmer who had been swept away by the sea currents.

The incident occurred at noon on Sunday, June 14, when the 70-year-old woman was swimming in the area and found herself in danger due to strong currents.

When the ferry crew saw the swimmer, their reaction was immediate  and crucial in rescuing the woman as it was impossible for her to swim back to the shore.

With a maneuver the ferry approached the woman and the crew helped her get on board.

The woman was safely transported to shore, where she was given First Aid and examined by doctors.

According to media, the woman is in good health.

Authorities have been warning swimmers again and again to be careful, as weather conditions can cause dangerous sea currents in the area.

A few years ago, a ferry on the same line, rescued a little girl on a big inflatable …unicorn that was also swept away by the sea currents.

The girl around 5 years old, was swept away by the currents while she was still at the shore having fun on her favorite unicorn.
