Rail replacement works will begin on Athens Metro Line 3 on Monday, June 15, 2026 , will force three metro stations to close earlier than usual. The rails replacement will affect the section between Panormou and Nomismatokopio stations.
Temporary night-time traffic arrangements will be in place during the works.
From June 15 to 18, stations Panormou, Katehaki, Ethniki Amyna, Holargos and Nomismatokopio will close at 21:40, around two and a half hours earlier than the scheduled end of service.
During the works, train services on Line 3 will operate between Dimotiko Theatro-Ampelokipoi and Agia Paraskevi-Doukissis Plakentias-Airport.
The last trains before station closures will depart as follows:
-from Dimotiko Theatro towards Doukissis Plakentias at 20:55,
-from Syntagma towards Doukissis Plakentias at 21:21,
-from Ampelokipoi at 21:25, from Panormou at 21:27,
-from Katehaki at 21:29, from Ethniki Amyna at 21:31,
-from Holargos at 21:33, and
-from Nomismatokopio at 21:35.
In the opposite direction:
-from Doukissis Plakentias towards Dimotiko Theatro at 21:23,
-from Agia Paraskevi at 21:27,
-from Nomismatokopio at 21:28,
-from Holargos at 21:30, from Ethniki Amyna at 21:32,
-from Katechaki at 21:34, and
-from Panormou at 21:36.
For Airport services, the last trains will depart as follows: from Syntagma towards the Airport at 20:55, from Dimotiko Theatro towards the Airport at 20:30, and from the Airport towards Dimotiko Theatro at 20:34.
After the start of technical works at 21:40, trains to the Airport will depart from Agia Paraskevi, while trains from the Airport will terminate at Agia Paraskevi. Specifically, departures from Agia Paraskevi towards the Airport will be at 21:44, 22:21, 22:57 and 23:33, and from the Airport towards Agia Paraskevi at 21:10, 21:46, 22:22, 22:58 and 23:34.
To serve passengers, bus manahing company OASA will operate a temporary bus line X20 between Ampelokipoi Metro Station and Halandri Metro Station from Sunday to Thursday, between 21:40 and the end of metro services.
