EC President at Riga Summit: Strong symbolism towards Greece or just the usual Juncker’s jokes? (video)

I first believed that the President of the European Commission Jean-Claude Juncker went to Riga Summit with a secret agenda for Greece. Reason for my bold speculation was the various performances illustrated by Juncker  towards the Greeks. Actually, towards the Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras.

First he pressed his tie on the chest of Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras, who has refusing to wear a tie until there is a solution to the Greek debt issue.

Did Juncker try to tell Tsipras that a solution was near?

Later when he met Tsipras for a private Greek chat, exceptionally effusive Juncker wrapped his huge hands around the Greek PM with an obvious expression of cheer and delight on his face.

Did Juncker feel the need to demonstrate love and affection for the desparate Greeks?

But the most powerful message was that: When Jean Claude Juncker entered the Summit Hall on Friday morning, he kept combing his hair with a small plastic white comb, the short men buy at the kiosk for €1.10.

He combed his hair in front of of photographers and cameramen.

Was that a camouflaged message to Greeks for an upcoming debt restructuring or in common English a debt hair cut?

At the end of the Riga day, the private meeting between Juncker and Tsipras turned out to have lasted only half an hour. Sources told Greek media that the EC President had said that “Greece had made important progress” and that he too considered that “an agreement was possible in the due time that the Greek government will set.

At the end of the Riga day,, it looked to me like another version of Juncker’s Much Ado About Nothing with the usual nonsense and well… rather unfortunate jokes at state leaders and ministers gatherings.
