ANEL MP pleads “toilette going” for interruption of parliament voting

A tragedy in Greek Parliament. ANEL MP Aristidis Fokas missed the voting for a legislation due to a …soda.

“The voting had started and I had to go to WC because I had drunk a soda at the bar, I was absent two minutes,” Fokas told the stunning -and laughing audience. He added that the voting had to be interrupted due to his absence.

He insisted that the presiding Parliament Speaker had to interrupt the voting so that his ‘vote’ would be counted. The Speaker indeed interrupted the voting which drew the anger of the opposition.

“What you did was ridiculous, not my story,” Fokas told his colleagues at the session.

Politics in Greece is getting more and more surreal and ridiculous.

PS Now everybody is wondering what was wrong with the soda. An attempt to undermine the voting maybe?
