Stormy winds blowing with intensity up to 11 and 12 Beaufort caused several problems on the island of Rhodes in the south-east Aegean Sea on Tuesday night.
Trees were uprooted, traffic signs flew through the air, shop windows broke and huge waves flooded the harbor area.
Due to nature’s force, power outages occurred living households and business places in the city and villages without electricity for several hours.

Due to the weather conditions, no flight was carried out. “For the passengers’ service additional flights were added for today (Wed),” head of the State Aviation Authority, Spyros Deligiannis to ERT Rhodes.
Local authorities consider the problems as “manageable.”
However, as the damages in the power network have not been fully restored, locals are angry for having to deal with outages in electricity and the water supply.
