More than 4 million taxpayers owe to the Greek state a total of 104.365 billion euros. Just 79 of them have debts amounting 34.156 billion euros.
According to the data of the Independent Public Revenue Authority (AADE), out of a total of 4,064,750 debtors, 54.6% owe amounts of less than 500 euros each, while 32.9% of debtors owe between 501 euros to 5,000 euros.
10% of debtors owe between 5,001 euros to 50,000 euros, while 1.7% owe amounts from 50,001 to 1,000,000 euros. 0.2% of debtors owe 1,000,001 and above. .
In other words, evidence shows that 87.5% of the debtors owe up to 5,000 euros, and the rate reaches 92.6% when the debt amount goes up to 10,000 euros.
This means that the overwhelming majority of government debts owe amounts of up to € 5,000 or € 10,000.
However, the largest amount of debt is accruing to large debtors. It is indicative that 87.5% of the debtors owing to the tax office up to 5.000 euros each, and this means that these amounts of debt make just 2.3% of the total overdue debts.
On the other hand, 1,154 debtors owe from 10,000,000 to 100,000,000 euros each, at a rate of 28.3% of of the total arrears.
79 debtors with debts of more than 100,000,000 euros each owe a total of 32.7% of the arrears. They owe a total of 34,156 billion euros.
