An earthquake with magnitude 4.8 R rattled the island of Karpathos short before one o’ clock Saturday. Its epicenter was in the Aegean Sea, 71 km South-East off the island.
No damages or injuries were reported.

At the time of the earthquake Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis was on the island which he visits over the weekend.

“We are shaken a bit yet I was informed there were no damages or injuries,” Mitsotakis posted on his private account adding he spoke with the residents about the perspectives of the island and the country.”
