An earthquake measuring 4.9 on the Richter scale rattles the islands of Rhodes and Karpathos in the south-eastern Aegean Sea on Wednesday.
The tremor occurred in the sea area between Rhodes and Karpathos at 02:58 early Wednesday afternoon.
The epicenter was 46 km North-East of Karpathos and 98km South-West of Rhodes.
The focal depth is estimated at 15 km.
The earthquake lasted three to five seconds and it was felt mainly in the city of Rhodes and in Karpathos,
No damages or injuries or any other problems were reported.
