Free admission to archeological sites, museums, monuments Sept 27-29

Greeks and tourists will have the possibility to take advantage of the free admission to the Greece’s archaeological sites and museums in the last weekend of September 2019.

The Greek Culture Ministry offers the free admission on the occasion of “World Tourism Day” and the “European Heritage Days 2019.”

On World Tourism Day, Friday, September 27, the Acropolis Museum will welcome visitors free of change during the time 9 0′ clock in the morning and 12 o’ clock noon.

Together with the Greek National Tourism Organization, the Culture Ministry organize an event at Syntagma Square in downtown Athens.  Between 5:00 and 8:00 p.m. there will be distribution of promotions material, t-shirts, hats and bags.

Passersby can participate in the lottery and win two free airline tickets for domestic destinations.

Celebrating the “European Heritage Days 2019,” with central theme “Art and Entertainment” the Culture Ministry offers free admission to museums, monuments and archaeological sites across the country during Saturday and Sunday, September 28 and 29.

Some 100 sites across Greece  will furthermore enable visitors to participate in activities specifically designed for these days.

The full program of events scheduled to take place in the museums, monuments and archaeological sites Sept 28-29 is on the Ministry’s website although in Greek only.
