A Dutch tourist died after falling off the cliff of the Venetian Castle in Parga, Epirus in Western Greece on Thursday. It was a couple of French tourist who found the woman’s body on the rocks below the Castle.
The woman was touring the Castle apparently alone and she was inside the compound when she fell.
The body of the woman was transferred to the hospital where doctors could only confirm her death. She had suffered fatal injuries.
She was staying alone in one of the hotels in the town since a couple of days, local media report.
According to local media pamepreveza.gr, the woman was 35 years old.
Police has excluded the option of a criminal act, notes local epirusgate.gr.
However, police investigates the circumstances under which the Dutch tourist fell off the cliff, whether it was an accident or even a suicide.
The 11th century Venetian Castle is located on the top of a hill overlooking the town. It is the main attractions for visitors. It is accessible through a narrow steeped street from the port of Parga.
