Tsipras on “Makedonia”: Had I thought to replace with problem would be solved”

“Had I thought to replace with the problem would be solved,” said former prime minister, Alexis Tsipras, who signed with Prespes Agreement with North Macedonia.

In a comment posted on his Facebook account, Tsipras ironically commented on Kyriakos Mitsotakis idea to introduce the word “Makedonia” from export products from Macedonia in Northern Greece.

“We will leave Macedonia to the North Macedonians and we will keep Makedonia. How didn’t I think for so long that changing the ‘c’ to ‘k’ would solve the problem … ‘, Tsipras rote adding that “those who are absent [from voting] found a solution to the trademark problem.”

He noted that “Kyriakos came so many times to my office about the name issue, but he never spoke to me about it. All smart thing he keeps for himself.”

Tsipras criticized the absence of New Democracy MEP from the voting at the European Parliament regarding the EU accession of West Balkan countries , that is North Macedonia and Albania.

He accused Mitsotakis of being “absent” form the crucial debate at the EU Summit, where France but also Denmark and the Netherlands vetoed the start of accession talks.

“It turned out that Denmark and the Netherlands had a more important role and a say in the Balkans than Greece,” Tsipras wrote among others.
