Government spokesman Stelios Petsas announced a government measure introduced for the time schools are closed due to coronavirus: special-purpose leave for parents.
The special-purpose leave from work is for working parents with children up to 15 years old. However, not both parents can claim the leave at the same time.
For four days of special-purpose leave, three will be counted as such and one as regular leave.
In the private sector, one third of the leave will be covered by the state budget.
In the public sector, the state will cover all the remuneration.
Public-sector workers are also given the option of flexible working hours, where this is possible, the spokesperson said.
