A 6-year-old child has died in a fire that broke out in the overcrowded hotspot of Moria on the island of Lesvos. The fire broke out at Monday noon. Reasons are, so far, unknown.
According to state broadcaster ERT TV, firefighters found the body of the girl inside a container.
The fire reportedly spread quickly due to the strong winds blowing in the area, local media report.
In addition to the container, the fire destroyed four makeshift wooden cabins.
The Fire Service managed to extinguish the fire two hours later.
