Coronavirus Greece: Death toll reaches 101 after two more elderly die

Death toll due to infection with coronavirus increased to 101 on Tuesday morning after an 84-year-old man and a 96-year-old woman died in hospitals in Athens in the last 12 hours. During the daily briefing on the course of the pandemic in Greece earlier on Monday, health authorities had announced one death in the last 24 hours, with the total being 99.

The total number of infections were 2,145. Of these, 25.8%  were infected abroad and 40% in Greece.

Among the 100 deaths, 26 were women. 89% had underlying health issues or their average age was 70 or over.

73 patients are intubated in Intensive Care Units. The average age of these patients is 68 years, 17 of these are women. 81% of them have underlying health issues or are at least 70 years of age.

A total of 16 people have been discharged from ICUs, so far.

43,417 tests have been conducted since the outbreak.
