An earthquake measuring 4.4 on the Richter scale rattled the East of Crete short after 9 o’ clock on Wednesday morning. The epicenter of the earthquake was 43 km North-East of Agios Nikolas and 8 km East of Sitia.
The focal depth was 19 km.
The tremor was felt in several areas in the east of the island but also in Heraklio.
Nobody was injured and no material damage has been recorded.The earthquake had the same epicenter as the 4.8 R that stroke on April 11.
