Greece April weather: Snow- and rainfalls, powerful wind, Sahara dust

A barometric low has brought temperature drop and powerful winds, snowfalls locally dense but also Sahara dust from the South. According to meteorologists, the “winter” in April is forecast to last until Thursday, April 23, 2020. A gradual weather improvement is expected as of Friday, although the weather will remain as unstable as usual in this month.

Temperatures are 5 degrees Celsius lower than the seasonal average.

Local rainfalls across the country.

Wind will be blowing with intensity up to 7-8 Beaufort and locally up to 9 B. It will weaken as from Friday afternoon.

Snowfalls, locally dense, in the mountains of  western Greece.

At the same time, temperature will be higher in the South. Accoridng to forecasts, it may reach up to 28 ° C in Crete and up to 24° C in the Dodecanese.

Strong south winds bring high concentration of Sahara dust.

Cloudy sky in Athens and Attica and possible light rainfalls. North-North-East winds  5-6 Beaufort and locally up to 7 B. Temperature 9-16 degrees Celsius.
