Death toll in Greece reached 156 on Wednesday after one more COVID-19 patient passed away in the evening. The man was the fourth fatality in the past 24 hours.
According to health authorities, 16 new confirmed cases, have raised the number of total infections to 2,760.
Of these, 610 are linked to travel abroad and 1,402 to confirmed cases in Greece.
Of the 16 new cases, 10 are residents of a Roma settlement of Nea Smyrni, Larissa, central Greece. According to media, they had attended the funeral of a deceased Roma member. Health teams have conducted 652 COVID-19 tests in the settlement.
28 patients are intubated in hospitals Intensive Care Units. Their average age is 71; ten of them women.
96.4% suffer from serious underlying health issues or are over 70 years old.
88 patients in total have been discharged from ICUs. T
Among the deceased were 41 were women. The average age of the deceased was 75 .
93.5% had underlying health issues or were over 70 years old.
A total of 112,042 tests have been conducted since the outbreak in the country.
One clinic in ELPIS hospital in Athens has been shut down, after 3 doctors, 1 nurse and 2 patients were tested positive to COVID-19. In voluntary 7-day home isolation are 25 health workers.
