30 ambulance workers in quarantine after two tested COVID-19 positive

Thirty ambulance workers in Athens have been placed in quarantine after two of their colleagues were tested positive for COVID-10 on Wednesday. Οne of the infected workers had high fever for two days and the other was asymptomatic.

The two had reportedly not transferred any OCVID-9 patients in the last days. It should be noted that ambulance workers undergo a test after they transfer a confirmed or a suspected COVID-19 case.

Those in quarantine will be tested.

It is the third incident of infection in the Ambulance Service EKAV after another worker was tested positive in mid-March.

On Wednesday, Greek health authorities announced 10 new coronavirus infections and one more death.

Late on Wednesday, one more COVID-19 patient passed away raising the number of deaths to 167.

The number of total infections stands at 2,850.

22 patients are intubated in hospitals Intensive Care Units.

A total of 96 patients have been discharged from ICUs.

A total of 139,445 tests have been conducted since the begin of the outbreak in late February.
