Greece’ Defense Ministry requests extra funding for submarines overhaul

Greece’s Defense Ministry on Friday submitted an amendment to the Parliament requesting additional financing of some 23.475 million euros for the completion of overhauls in four submarines and two gunboats at Skaramangas and Eleusis Shipyards, respectively.

€20.1 million will cover the servicing costs of both the submarines and their escort vessels and €3.375 million will see the completion of works in the Navy’s missile-launcher vessels at Elefsina shipyards.

The proposed amount would be allocated via the Defense Ministry’s public investment program. [via amna]
