Greece’s health authorities announced just two new confirmed cases of COVID-19 on Sunday evening, while no deaths have been recorded in the last 24 hours. The number of total infections stand at 2,878 and the death toll at 171.
55.2% of the infected are men.
Of the total infections 626 cases are linked to travel abroad and 1,635 to confirmed cases in Greece.
19 patients are intubated in hospitals Intensive Care Units. Among them are 6 women.
The average age of intubated patients is 70 years old. 84.2% of them have underlying health problems and/or are over 70.
A total of 100 patients have been discharged from the ICUs, so far.
Death toll stands at 171, after two more patients died on Saturday.
50 of the deceased were women.
The average age of the deceased was 76 years old. 94.7% of them had underlying health problem and/or were over 70 years old.
A total of 153,963 COVID-19 tests have been conducted since the outbreak in the country in late February.
The number of tests is large enough to allow a clearer sense of the virus’ epidemiological profile in Greece, said infectious diseases doctor and Air Vice-Marshal Dimitrios Hadzigeorgiou at the daily briefing on Sunday.
