Coronavirus Greece: 11 new confirmed cases raise total infections to 3,068

Eleven new confirmed coronvirus cases and not a one death have been recorded in the last 24 hours, Greece’s health authorities announced on Wednesday evening. The number of those in intensive care units increased by 2 patients from Tuesday to Wednesday and two of the new cases are related to arrivals from abroad.

The results of more tests are expected in the next days, Star TV reported later.

According to the ministry statement, total infections stand at 3,068 and death toll at 183. Men are 55.2% of the infected.

Of the total cases, 692 people were were  infected during a travel abroad and 1,751 were infected by already known cases.

12 patients are intubated in hospitals Intensive Care Units, their average age is 70.

Five of them are women.

75% of the intubated patients have underlying health issues or are over 70 years old.

A total of 115 patients have been discharged from ICUs since the outbreak in late February.

Among the 183 deceased were 56 women.

Average age of the deceases was 76.

The overwhelming majority (95.6%) of the deceased had underlying health issues and/or were over 70 years old.
