Athens airport to offer COVID-19 test to travellers and staff

The Athens International Airport (AIA) has announced that it will offer coronavirus (Covid-19) testing, upon request, to the arriving or departing travellers and Athens airport staff as of Wednesday, August 5, 2020.

The initiative will be carried out in cooperation with the Athens Medical Center and with the aim to deal effectively with the Covid-19 pandemic.

The diagnostic molecular test rrT-PCR test will be conducted between 7:00 a.m. and 11:00 p.m. on a daily basis.

The special facilities for the test will be set up at the Arrival Level between Entrance 2 and 3.

The result of the PCR tests taken at Athens Airport will be available in 6 hours after samples are taken.

The Covid-18 test is a private service and will cost 70 euros.

Eligible for the test are arriving or departing passengers and any airport employee. (insider.gr, gtp.gr)

Note that the test has nothing to do with the Passenger Location Form PLF flight passengers arriving to Greece are obliged to fill up prior to their check-in departure country.
