183 new coronavirus cases, 6 deaths registered in Greece in 24 hours

Health authorities announced on Monday evening 183 new coronavirus cases and four more deaths registered in Greece in the last 24 hours. The total infections stand at 10,317 and the death toll is officially at 266.

Among the latest fatalities are two elderly form the nursing home in Asvestochori that counts a total of 17 dead, one 78-year-old woman on Lesvos and a 93-year-old man in Chania.

However, two more patients infected with coronavirus died after the authorities’ bulletin was out on Monday and raised the number of deaths to 268.

Of the new cases, 10 were detected among tourists.

The Civil Protection imposed restrictive measures in the Regional Unit of Heraklio on the island of Crete due to epidemiological load.

According to the official daily bulletin on Monday, 2089 (20.2%) of the total cases are related to travel abroad and 4570(44.3%) are related to already known infection case.

The number of intubated patients in ICUs increased to 36 from 35 yesterday. Their average age is 69, among them are 10 women. 94.4% have underlying health problems or are aged over 70.

153 people have been discharged from ICUs since the start of the pandemic in Greece.

Four more deaths have raised death toll to 266.  Of the deceased 96 were women. Their average age was 77 and 95.9% of the deceased had an underlying condition or/and was over 70 years old.

Rolling weekly average cases at 215 from 240 last week.

Total tests since begin of outbreak are 949,367.

Tests in the last 24 hours: 8,385 with 2.16% of them positive.

Daily growth at +1.8%

Of the 183 new cases, 173 are domestic, of them 46 are linked ot clusters, 12 to contact with known case and 10 with recent travel within the country.

10 of the new cases were detected at entry points  -and another 0 travelers sought laboratories after they developed symptoms.

Each 9 Thessaloniki and Kozani
8 Imathia, 7 Cyclades, 6 Ioannina, 4 Chania
6 under investigation
Each 3 Kavala and Lesvos
Each 2 in Heraklio and Pella
Each 1 in  Aitoloakarnania, Achaia, Grevena, Dodecanese, Zakynthos, Corinth, Florina

One nurse in a nursing home in Moschato suburb of southern Athens has been tested positive on Saturday. Health teams have carried out tests to 47 elderly and 37 home staff.

20 minors in a facility hosting unaccompanied refugee children from Asia and Africa and 8 members of the personnel have been tested positive to COVID-19. The facility in Vyronas suburb of Athens, has been placed under quarantine, those tested negative will be transferred to another facility.
