Greece extends 40% reduction of commercial rents for another month

Greek authorities extended for another month the measure for a 40% reduction of commercial rents for enterprises in the sectors of hospitality, transport, culture and sports that were hit by the pandemic crisis.

Greek Finance Minister Christos Staikouras said the measure will be extended in the month of September.

Speaking to ANT1 TV on Tuesday, said that commercial property owners will be eligible for a tax return equal to the 30%  of the rents loss and that this sum will be cleared with income or property taxes this year.

Additionally, all property owners hit by the pandemic will be offered more flexible terms in repaying their debt to tax agencies.

Staikouras said that the prime minister will announce both temporary and permanent reductions in taxes and social contributions.
