North Macedonia PM Zaev enjoys working lunch with PM Mitsotakis

Prime Minister of North Macedonia Zoran Zaev, had a working lunch with Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis on Wednesday. The two leaders discussed bilateral relations with focus on the development of economic cooperation between  Greece and North Macedonia as well as North Macedonia’s European perspective.

Zaev reportedly committed to the need to properly implement the Prespes Agreement.

He later met with SYRIZA leader Alexis Tsipras, who had initiated the accord between the two countries.

Zaev said that it was “a dream come true” to come to Athens after the signing of the Agreement, to discuss matters relating to “business, economy and various collaborations.”

Tsipras told Zaev that “I am also happy that my country continues to support your country and the Prespes Agreement, despite the fact that Greece’s ruling party stood against it when it was an opposition party.”

“Today, {ND] not only respects it, but also fights for the Prespes Agreement,” Tsipras said.

Zaev replied  that “this is a real success.”

He is visiting Athens to participate at the Economist conference.

PS No, the Greek conservative PM did not tear apart the Prespes Agreement in front of Zaev, neither behind him. He had just used it as a tool to attract the nationalists and win the elections in July 2019.

Now some mean Greeks circulate a video from Mitsotakis speech at the Parliament on Feb 8, 2019, in which he says” I will never say I welcome the Macedonian PM.”

Well… may he said “Hi, Zoran!” earlier today.
