Greece recorded 229 new coronavirus cases and 4 more deaths in the past 24 hours, raising the news cases over the weekend to 436 and death toll to 11. For the first time in ten days, the number of new daily cases in Attica were below 100. However, as always, the number of tests over the weekends are lower.
Greece struck a new record on Friday with 460 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours, again with much fewer tests, some 30% less than originally planned. Attica and Athens registered again the majority of new cases with 207.
The total cases have reached 19,842 and death toll increased to 409.
29 of the new cases on Sunday were detected among tourists and another 30 on Saturday.

According to the official daily bulletin on Sunday, 3049(15.4%) of the total cases are related to travel abroad and 8083(40,7%) are related to already known infection case.
Almost half of the cases have unknown origin.
55.8% of the infected are men.
The number of intubated patients in ICUs is 82 from 79 a day earlier. Their average age is 69, among them are 25 women. 81.7% have underlying health problems or are aged over 70.
223 people have been discharged from ICUs since the start of the pandemic in Greece.
Four more deaths in the last 24 hours increased death toll to 409. Of the deceased 153 were women. The average age of the deceased was 78 and 96.3% of the deceased had an underlying condition or/and was over 70 years old.
Total tests since begin of outbreak are 1,340,123.
Tests in the last 24 hours: 9,459 with 2.42% of them positive. A good, normal number with less reason for concerns is when positive is below 2%.
Daily growth at +1.2%.

Of the 229 new coronavirus cases, 31 are related to known clusters and 28 were detected at the country’s entry points.

28 of the new cases were detected at entry points; another 1 travelers already in the country sought laboratories after they developed symptoms.

Alarm has rank in health authorities as 8 members of the staff of an elderly care home in Karditsa, western Macedonia, have been tested positive.
