Greece recorded 407 new coronavirus cases and 4 more Covid-19 related deaths in the past 24 hours, health authorities announced on Wednesday.
The total cases have reached 20,947 and death toll increased to 424.
27 of the new cases on Monday were detected among tourists.
Again, Attica and Athens top the list with 194 new cases.
The Civil Protection imposed restrictions in the Regional units of Ioannina, Epirus, and Kozani, western Macedonia, on Wednesday. Among others, the use of mask is compulsory in-and outdoors. The restrictive measures go into force for five days, from 22:00 October 7 until October 12, 2020.
Note, that two days ago, authorities imposed restrictions in the Municipality of Ioannina.

According to the official daily bulletin on Wednesday, 3150(15%) of the total coronavirus cases are related to travel abroad and 8559(40.9%) are related to already known infection case.
55.9% of the infected are men.
The number of intubated patients in ICUs is 88 from 88 a day earlier. Their average age is 67, among them are 24 women. 90.9% have underlying health problems or are aged over 70.
232 people have been discharged from ICUs since the start of the pandemic in Greece.
Four more deaths in the last 24 hours increased death toll to 424. Of the deceased 158 were women. The average age of the deceased was 78 and 96.5% of the deceased had an underlying condition or/and was over 70 years old.
Total tests since begin of outbreak are 1,379,036.
Tests in the last 24 hours: 11,805 with 3.45% of them positive. A good, normal number with less reason for concerns is when positive is below 2%.

Of the 407 new coronavirus cases, 56 are related to known clusters and 25 were detected at the country’s entry points.

25 of the new cases were detected at entry points; another 2 travelers already in the country sought laboratories after they developed symptoms.

Seven people in Ioannina were tested positive after they attended a baptism event last weekend.
One elderly woman has been hospitalized after she was tested positive last Saturday. She was hosted at a care home in Athens. Tests on other residents and staff have been carried out on Wednesday, the results are due.
