Greece’s health authorities announced 715 new coronavirus cases and seven deaths on Monday evening. The new cases on Monday were the results of some 11,000 tests with a high positive rate, at 5.97%.
The total cases exceeded 30,000 and have increased to 31,496,782. Death toll reached 581.
Among the new coronavirus cases are 54 tourists.
There are currently 7900 active cases with 60% of them (4700) to be without known source of contamination.
Attica is again on top of the list with 260 new cases.
In Thessaloniki, where the coronavirus spreads at a constant speed, faithful crowded in the Church of the Patron of the city, Saint Demetrios, and priests ignored the Covid-restrictions.
On the first day of the night curfew and the mandatory use of masks in- and outdoors in 16 regional units, on Saturday, Police has conducted thousands of inspections, fined bar owners and customers across the country.

According to the official daily bulletin on Monday, 3883 (12.3%) of the total coronavirus cases are related to travel abroad and 12194 (38.7%) are related to already known infection case.
55.5% of the infected are men.
The number of intubated patients in ICUs is 95 from 84 a day earlier. Their average age is 65, among them are 32 women. 95.8% have underlying health problems or are aged over 70.
Among the 91 intubated Covid-19 patients are also two in the age group 18-39.
274 people have been discharged from ICUs since the start of the pandemic in Greece.
Seven more deaths in the last 24 hours increased death toll to 581. Of the deceased 220 were women. The average age of the deceased was 79 and 96.2% of the deceased had an underlying condition or/and was over 70 years old.
Total tests since begin of outbreak are 1,678,129.
Tests in the last 24 hours: 11,978 with 5.97% (record!) of them positive. A good, normal number with less reason for concerns is when positive is below 2%.
Daily growth at +2.3%.

Of the 715 new coronavirus cases, 93 are related to known clusters and 48 were detected at the country’s entry points.
48 of the new cases were detected at entry points; another 6 travelers already in the country sought laboratories after they developed symptoms.
