Archbishop of Albania Anastasios is to be transferred with a Greek military helicopter to a hospital in Athens after he has been tested positive to Covid-19.
According to the media report, the 91-year-old archbishop only has mild symptoms. However, doctors opined that he be admitted to hospital due to his advanced age and some chronic health issues.
A C-130 aircraft of the Greek Air Force left the military airport of Elefsina in west Attica for Tirana Wednesday noon. On board are reportedly ambulance paramedics and one doctor. There is option that the patient would be transferred in a negative pressure capsule.
The Archbishop will be hospitalized in Covid-19 ICU in Evaggelismos public hospital in the Greek capital.
