Greek Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias went into quarantine for preventing reasons on Wednesday after he was informed that a person he had met with has tested positive for Covid-19. The meeting of Dendias with his Egyptian counterpart on official visit to Athens has been cancelled.
The decision to go into self-isolation was a “precaution,” the Foreign Ministry said in its announcement.
According to media information, the person the Minister had met with is the Greek ambassador to Turkey. The latter had met also other officials at the ministry.
Several ministers of the Greek government have gone into preventive self-isolation since the outbreak without being infected. So far, tested positive to Covid-19 has been recently only Education Minister Niki Kerameos.
