Covid-19 related deaths surpassed the milestone of 1000 on Saturday, after Greece’s health authorities announced on Saturday that 38 people died in past 24 hours. New coronavirus cases are 2,835 and the number of intubated Covid-19 patients broke a new record reaching 366.
Total cases have reached 72,510 and death toll 1,035.
The recent in infections, deaths and intubations have forced the Greek government to toughen lockdown measures and will impose a night curfew across the country from 9 pm to 5 am as of November 13, 2020, with very few exemptions – check here. For the latest night curfew updates check here.
Education Minister Niki Kerameos announced Saturday noon the closure of elementary schools and kindergartens from November 16 until November 30, 2020.
Government officials have warned that the lockdown may be extended if the 3-week restrictions and night curfew do not significantly decrease the number of daily infections.

According to the official daily bulletin on Saturday, 4622(6.4%) of the total coronavirus cases are related to travel abroad and 18812 (25.9%) are related to already known infection case.
54% of the infected are men.
The number of intubated patients in ICUs increased to 366 !!! from 336 day earlier. Their average age is 64, among them are 112 women. 80.98% have underlying health problems or are aged over 70.
370 people have been discharged from ICUs since the start of the pandemic in Greece.
Thirty-eight more deaths in the last 24 hours increased death toll to 1035. Of the deceased 416 were women. The average age of the deceased was 80 and 96.8% of the deceased had an underlying condition or/and was over 70 years old.

Total tests since begin of outbreak are 2,078,062.
Tests in the last 24 hours: 24,896 with 11.39% of them positive. A good, normal number with less reason for concerns is when positive is below 2%.
