Biggest Nativity scene in Europe is set up in Thessaloniki (video)

A big Nativity scene has been set up in Thessaloniki, northern Greece, a construction claiming to be the biggest in Europe. Its facade is 15 meters long and it covers an area of 50 square meters. The Nativity scenery does not include only the Holy Family, the angels, the Three Wise Men, the animals and the shepherds but also the palace of Herod and the scene where archangel Gabriel offered a lily to Virgin Mary.

Creator of the manger is well-known artist Vassilis Michailidis, who in the past created also the thematic park “The Dinosaur Park.”

The Nativity construction is inside the Cultural Center of the hotel “Nouvelle”  located at the 7th km of Thessaloniki-Oreokastro (tel. 2310 686544).

The organizers, in an announcement, state that anyone can visit the manger, with free admission and that for the arrival of visitors will be observed all the legal procedures required nowadays (mandatory use of a mask, keeping distance, etc.).

Visiting hours are 10 a.m. – 9 p.m.

Note: Due to the lockdown restrictive measures, people wanting to visit the manger should contact the organizers to receive instructions on how to complete the necessary “movement” options.
