The number of Covid-19 deaths exceeded 4,000 on Friday. Greece’s health authorities announced 916 new coronavirus cases and 96 deaths in the past 24 hours. 527 Covid-19 patients are intubated in hospitals across the country.
Death toll has reached 4,004 and the total cases stand at 129,584.
Tougher lockdown in the Regional Unit of Kozani
Head of Civil Protection Nikos Hardalias announced on Friday, tougher lockdown restrictions for the Regional Unit of Kozani as of Saturday, Dec 19.
Rapid tests
The government will launch an online platform where citizens can register for a rapid test. The platform will go online on Monday, Dec 21. (More in a separate post soon)

According to the official daily bulletin on Friday, 5178(4.0%) of the total coronavirus cases are related to travel abroad and 37630 (29%) are related to already known infection case.
The remaining infections are without known source.
52.5% of the infected are men.
The number of intubated patients in ICUs stands at 527 from 542 a day earlier. Their average age is 67, among them are 160 women. 77.6% have underlying health problems or are aged over 70.
797 people have been discharged from ICUs since the start of the pandemic in Greece.
Another 96 deaths in the last 24 hours increased death toll to 4044. Of the deceased 1631 (40.3%) were women. The average age of the deceased was 79 and 95.6% of the deceased had an underlying condition or/and was over 70 years old.
Rolling weekly average cases at 1004 from 1361 last week.
Total tests since begin of the outbreak are 2,640,158 and 398,830 Rapid AG tests
Tests in the last 24 hours: 16,849 with —% οf them positive. A good, normal number with less reason for concerns is when positive is below 2%.
