Stray puppies found refuge in the nativity scene set up in the square of Neochori, a village on Mount Pelion in Central Greece. They sought refuge from the night cold and the rain next to Virgin Mary, baby Jesus, Joseph and the lambs.

The puppies brought a touch of liveliness into the scene at stands still at the main square of the village.

The heart-warming pictures were taken by local photographer Ilias Sakellaris.

He went the other night to take a picture of the nativity scene, when it started to rain.

The five puppies came out of the blue, walked around him and walked straight into the nativity scene.
“It was obvious that they wanted to be on the picture…” Sakellaris said.
So sweet! Jesus said: let the children come to me! I am sure He ment kittens and puppies too! In fact I think He ment all living creatures……
